Privacy policy

Haiku Grove is a place to write haiku with strangers. We collect as little as we can to run it, we don’t sell your information, and you can delete your account at any time.

How we use it

Who helps us run Haiku Grove

Your browser and phone

The website keeps your sign-in, theme choice and unfinished drafts in your browser’s storage. The app keeps the same on your phone. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Ages 13 and up, with extra care for under-18s

Haiku Grove is for people aged 13 and older. If someone tells us they are under 13 when they sign up, we delete their new login straight away and keep nothing. If we learn that someone under 13 has an account, we delete it.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself at any time:

Deleting removes your sign-in, email address, messages, comments, hearts, reshares, follows, blocks, reports and unfinished poems straight away. Lines you wrote in finished poems stay, credited to “Departed poet”, so the two other poets keep their poem. Your pen name, city and bio are removed from them.

If you signed in with Facebook, you can also remove Haiku Grove under Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites. That stops Facebook sharing anything new with us. To delete what we already hold, delete your Haiku Grove account as described above.

Changes

If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app.
